Recognizing Colorado's most outstanding energy student.

Overview

In partnership with the West Slope Colorado Oil & Gas Association, the Colorado Mesa University Foundation created a new endowment that will provide an annual scholarship award to Colorado's most outstanding student pursuing a future career in Western Colorado's diverse energy industries.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for the scholarship, a Colorado high school student must demonstrate through essay, extracurricular activities and academic performance the skills necessary to become a high performing future energy professional. The scholarship will be awarded to a student planning on attending CMU full-time and pursing a degree in an energy related field. Campus energy related programs include Landman/energy management, mechanical engineering, environmental science, geology, machining, welding or process systems technology. Only high school seniors graduating in spring of 2021 are eligible to apply. Once awarded the scholarship, the student must maintain a 3.0 GPA.

What benefits does the scholarship provide?

The award amount will be $12,000 and will be distributed $3,000 annually. The award will be presented at the West Slope Colorado Oil & Gas Association Annual Banquet in February hosted by Colorado Mesa University and the winner will be named the 2021 Colorado Energy Scholar.
