The Colorado Mesa University MAVcard is the official student ID at Colorado Mesa University. CMU degree seeking students, concurrent, fast-track, faculty, and staff are eligible to receive an official CMU campus ID card. Students need to be registered for classes in the current semester and present valid government issued photo identification in order to be eligible for a MAVcard. Faculty and Staff must work with Human Resources to complete the check-in sheet and present a valid government issued photo identification to be issued a card.
Accepted types of identification include government issued passports, driver's license, state identification cards or a military ID. MAVcards will not be issued without proper identification and validation of the student being registered for classes (registration exceptions are made only during New Student Orientations).
The MAVcard has many purposes and allows students, faculty, and staff access to the:
- Campus Dining Outlets with meal plans
- Library
- Recreation Center
- Payment convenience at several on and off campus locations with MAVmoney
- CMU Athletic Events
- Residence Hall Access
- Pre-approved building access
You can purchase MAVmoney, FLEXmoney, and Meal Plans for your MAVcard online. If you are a CMU Student, Staff, or Faculty, click here. If you are a parent, guardian, or family member of a CMU Student, you may make the purchase for your student by clicking here.

Welcome to the Mavily!
Getting a MAVcard is required for all CMU students. You can make your arrival at CMU much smoother by completing the MAVcard application process online. Here is the step-by-step process:
Step 1: Log in to your MAVzone and find the MyPhotos App. You may need to click the "Applications" button on the sidebar to locate it. Click the app to get started
Step 2: In the app, select the "Get Started" button at the bottom of the page to begin the upload process
Step 3: Follow the instructions to upload an appropriate MAVcard photo, a picture of a Government ID (Driver's License, Passport, etc), and a signature. Be sure that your MAVcard photo matches our desired specifications. Photos that do not conform to our specifications will be denied.
Step 4: Once your photo has been successfully submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. This confirmation email will include a link for you to fill out an eForm for your MAVcard.
Step 5: That's it! When your MAVcard is printed, we'll send you another email letting you know it's ready for pickup! If your photo is denied, you'll receive an email and will have to resubmit a new photo.
Step 6: You can pick up your MAVcard whenever the University Center is open on or before your move-in day. Typical building hours can be found here. Your card can be picked up in our office or at the Information Desk in the University Center.
Move In Day Information: If your move in day arrives and you do not have your MAVcard yet, residence halls will still allow you to move in first and then come get your card later.
*(Montrose students should review the Montrose page for MAVcard information.)
