Appropriately qualified high school students may register for classes through the university that are not replicated through the school district curriculum as allowed by the Colorado Concurrent Enrollment Act. High school students may access these courses in four distinct ways:

  1. Taking college-level career and technical education courses at Western Colorado Community College as a Technical Scholar;

  2. Enrolling in a Colorado Mesa University course offered at the student's high school as a High School Scholar;

  3. Enrolling in a Colorado Mesa University course on one of the CMU campuses as an Early Scholar; or

  4. Participating in the ASCENT program, a special program that allows qualifying students to pursue college full-time while being counted as a high school student.
