  • I transferred to CMU because I wanted a friendly campus community, affordable tuition, plenty of outdoor opportunities, and the opportunity to grow professionally. When I was considering transferring schools, I wanted the school to be AACSB certified. I know CMU is almost finished with that accreditation journey. It was a great choice for me.
  • I love that the business courses are hands-on and apply to the real world. This semester in classes, I'm learning about the marketing strategies in local businesses around Grand Junction, running group projects similar to how a business would operate, learning how marketing software works, and more. I appreciate that I am applying myself instead of learning strictly theory.
  • I like that the business programs are similar enough to each other to allow for students to change their minds about what business program they choose to do. Many business concentrations have a similar degree plan to one another, meaning switching from an HR focus to a Marketing focus is easy to do. I also like that the business programs include classes in a lot of the areas of concentration. All business concentrations have to take management courses, accounting courses, and so on.
  • I am so thankful for my business professors here at CMU! They truly care and will go out of their way to make sure we understand the material and are generally receiving any help we need. I have had professor Liff for a handful of classes, and he has helped me apply to internships, helped me understand my degree plan, explain my classes to me, and been an overall great professor. All my professors at CMU have been extremely helpful in class, and after class during their office hours!
  • Lastly, I love CMU's surrounding area. There is always something to do. The CO National Monument is so close, has the best hiking, with different terrain than the front range. Mount Garfield is super close, and that is my favorite place to hike. Grand Mesa National Forrest is so close, with endless hiking, skiing, camping, and paddleboarding!! Needless to say, it's pretty fun around here!

  • Brining in courses from other institutions didn't take away from my learning. My advisor worked with me so I didn't have to start from scratch while also ensuring that I learned the knowledge material for my degree. He helped me build an education around the gaps in my existing credits.

  • I like the business courses because I feel as if they give students the real-world material we need to succeed. The courses are mostly immersive and allow for students to consider themselves in a professional environment which helps us become better candidates for jobs after graduation.
  • The professors are really great, especially the ones within your major. It’s nice to build relationships with your professors because this allows for you to become a better student. Personally, I really like a couple of my professors which makes me want to go to class and learn from them. With professors like that, it makes a huge difference in the way we view the class/college.
  • CMU has a beautiful campus which I think is important to how students act and their well-being. Campus is easy to navigate and there are a lot of places to study, hangout, or network.
  • The surrounding area is also really great because there’s a lot of outdoor activities to do locally. Or you can drive a couple hours in almost any direction and find something fun to do outside of Grand Junction.
