Evidence of Program Success

Spring 2021 a survey was conducted online for business seniors enrolled in the Business Strategy course and showed similar findings when compared with the Spring 2019 survey.  Of those students responding, when asked if the students were familiar with the Daniels Fund Eight Principles, 89% of those responding said that they were familiar with the Principles.  When asked if the students had used the Eight Principles in ethical decision making since attending CMU, 96% reported they had used the Principles.  And 98% reported that the Eight Principles had provided the student a framework to use in ethical decision making. The last question asked on the survey was the following:  Based upon your participation in CMU Ethics Activities, do you feel better prepared to address ethical challenges in your future?  Over 98% of students responded yes to this question, which emphatically underscores the impact of the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program.

Student Testimonials

"The Ethics Initiative at Colorado Mesa University has helped form me into the young adult and student I am today and will continue to be throughout my life.  Being asked to join the Daniel's Fund Ethics Case Competition team my freshman year has transformed my time in college and has allowed me to grow as a leader through the Student CPT Chapter, surround myself with others that challenge my critical thinking and offered me opportunities such as meeting and hosting Cynthia Cooper on our campus, meeting diverse students across campus and making some of my closest friends.  I could not have asked for a more enriching and exciting experience to take part of during my time in college." -CMU Student

Faculty Testimonials

"The Daniels Fund Initiative at CMU has given me an opportunity to improve my understanding of the complexity of ethical issues in facing business; and the various positions our students take on them.  Helping students, both in class and online, to explore Ethics-based simulations decision-making simulations; preparing student teams for and taking part in the Ethics Case Competition; and reflecting on the projects completed have improved my teaching of ethical decision-making and the reinforced merit of the Daniels Fund Core Values." -CMU Professor of Management
