Flexibility Accommodations
Flexibility accommodations including disability-related absences (DRA) and flex turn-in dates are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Course flexibility is limited. Flexibility accommodations can not cause a fundamental alteration to the course learning. Prompt (as soon as safely able) and clear communication is required between the student and faculty to facilitate flexibility. Accommodated students are expected to meet the same standards as peers and complete all course work. Natural course consequences may occur if a students goes beyond the parameters set by the Flex Plan or pre-arranged exceptions. Consequences may include zero for an assignment, zero for participation points, not alternative testing date, etc.

-
Timely
Requests should be made as soon as safely able and before deadlines whenever possible. Requests made outside of a reasonable window may be denied. Requests are not intended to be retroactive.
-
Acute Need
Requests are to be made when an unexpected circumstances or acute disability-related need has disrupted the student's ability to complete tasks (assignment or attendance) as scheduled.

Uphold Class Expectations
A Student Flexibility Request does not exempt the student from the learning. Students are still expected to attend class and complete all tasks. Flexibility accommodations do not alter the fundamental nature or essential learning requirements of the course.
