Notetaking Accommodations
Eligible students registered with EAS may be approved for one or more of the following accommodations: Audio Record Lectures; Request Access to Instructor Presentation Materials; Access to take photos of the board; Peer Notetaker. The accommodation decision is based on student need. None of the notetaking accommodations can guarantee early access to instructor presentation materials or notes before the scheduled class time.

Permission to Audio Record Lectures
There are a variety of note-taking applications available to students that allow for audio recording. Most note-taking software's have a cost associations, but eligible students may receive access to a provided software free of charge. Here is a list of some of the many note-taking supports available, but this is not an exhaustive list and students are encouraged to explore other options.
Students can access Microsoft OneNote from MavZone to use it on the web or download it (contact IT for assistance with downloading). OneNote allows students to take notes on a canvas style page, but also allows for audio recordings that can be tied to notes taken throughout the course. Notes can be organized in various ways that will allow the student to search for terms either in written notes or audio recordings.
Jamworks will record lectures and allow student engagement while recording including digital notes, time markers, and live captioning. Complete recordings then generate a transcript, key points, a summary, and allow the student to engage with an AI companion to cover the material within the recording. This is a great option for STEM fields with accurate or editable formula translation.
Genio will record lectures and connect with instructor provides slides to match the audio and visuals (student engagement required). Students can take notes that will be tagged with the audio and receive a transcript as well as summary notes. Genio also has a quiz AI feature that will allow students to test on the information captured in the recording.
Notability will record lectures and allow the student to draw or insert notes in one place. The notes can be exported for easy study materials and provide a summary of the recording.

Otter AI will record while transcribing in real time and allow student engagement with pictures, highlighting, or comments. Completed recordings will provide AI generated summaries and to do checklists among other study tools. This is a great option for personal recordings for dictation or speech-to-text as the software is highly accurate and adaptive to voices and grammar patterns.
