On-Campus Dining Accommodation Requests

Colorado Mesa University is committed to reasonably accommodating persons with disabilities who require access to dining services while living on campus. If you are a CMU student living on campus and need dining accommodations due to a diagnosis or health impairment that impedes typical participation in campus dining options, complete the application below to start the request process. Students already living on campus during the current semester will receive prioritized processing over incoming students.

Step 1

Apply for Housing

Step 2

Submit a Complete Dining Accommodation Application

Must have medical dietary need
Complete the following dining accommodation application with demographic information, dietary needs/restrictions, housing details, and supporting documentation.
  1. Dining Accommodation Application

Application includes multiple pages and the option to upload supporting documentation. Be mindful of the page timing out.

  2. Documentation Guidelines

Learn more about submitting supporting documentation.

Step 3

Dining Application Review

Allow up to 5 business days for initial review
Educational Access Services will review the completed dining accommodation application and invite student to participate in the interactive process as deemed appropriate.
Step 4

Accommodation Evaluation

As part of the interactive process, the student will work with EAS to collaborate with Dining Services (Sodexo) and Residence Life to determine reasonable accommodations for the student's dietary diagnosis. There are various access opportunities available depending on student need. This is an adaptive and ongoing process with the goal of ensuring access to sufficient nutrition for the student throughout the semester, as needed.
  1. Present Opportunities for Access

Explore the CMU Dining page for various offerings. There is an allergen-friendly counter available to all students at lunch and dinner. This is not an allergen-free zone as we cannot guarantee the food has avoided cross-exposure to one of the Big-9 allergens.

Application Suspension Policy

Educational Access Services (EAS) will attempt to contact the student via the student's Mavs email or phone for up to one month after the application submission date. After attempting to contact the student at least 3 times without response, EAS will suspend the student's application. The application information will be saved and can be re-activated by the student contacting EAS.
