The Davis Legacy Scholar (DLS) program offers business students a unique advantage in their education. The benefits include:

Earn a Scholarship
DLS students can earn a scholarship up to $5,000 per year, not to exceed full cost of tuition.
Eligibility Requirements
Davis Legacy Scholar (DLS) students must complete specific requirements to be eligible for the scholarship program.
- Pursuing a degree in business
- Demonstrated need for financial assistance
- Active participation in high school or CMU athletics, student organizations, co-curricular activities or exemplary community engagement
- High academic achievement - high school GPA above 3.5

- Engagement: each Davis Legacy Scholar (DLS) student must be engaged in a meaningful club, team, student or community facing campus job or student administrative role (Ambassadors, Student Government, etc.) on campus. DLS students will be required to show proof of ongoing engagement during the academic year in order to be eligible for a renewed scholarship the next year.
- Leadership: each Davis Legacy Scholar (DLS) student must show progress toward taking on leadership roles on campus. While the expectation is not that freshmen and sophomores will be president of clubs or captain of their athletic team, DLS students must show that they are more than just members of a club or team, they should actively work to take on new and bigger roles and support their colleagues and teammates.
- Career Preparation: each Davis Legacy Scholar (DLS) student must
- Visit Career Services for a resume review in the first semester they are part of the DLS.
- Create and maintain a LinkedIN professional profile and post regular updates.
- Attend at least one CMU career fair or networking event each semester in order to be eligible for a renewed scholarship the next year.
- Participation: each Davis Legacy Scholar (DLS) student must attend at least one DLS event each semester in order to be eligible for a renewed scholarship the next year. Additionally, DLS students must attend three CMU events or community volunteer opportunities throughout the academic year.
- Student Showcase: each Davis Legacy Scholar (DLS) student must participate in CMU Student Showcase in their junior and senior year (typically in April).
- Academic Achievement: maintain a GPA above 3.2
Davis Legacy Scholar students are expected to embody the university values:

- Week 1 - Davis Legacy Scholar (DLS) Welcome Dinner
- Week 2 - DLS Engagement Planning Session
- Meeting with DLS Program Coordinator to review and establish engagement plans
- Week 6 - DLS Leadership Planning Session
- Meeting with DLS Program Coordinator to review and establish leadership plans
- Week 10 - DLS Networking Event
- Week 14 - DLS Participation Planning Session
- Meeting with DLS Program Coordinator to review and establish participation plans
- Prior to Week 16 - Career Preparation
- Schedule visit with Career Center for resume assistance (1st year DLS students)
- Create professional LinkedIN profile (1st year DLS students)
- Review LinkedIN profile with DLS Program Coordinator and incorporate strategies to build and expand your professional network
- Attend CMU Career Fair
- Week 1 - Davis Legacy Scholar (DLS) Welcome Back Dinner
