1. Prepare for Registration
See class registration details for all incoming student types here.

Request updated official transcripts and AP/IB scores
Request for updated official transcripts to be sent from the issuing institution to CMU. Request for AP or IB scores to be sent from the respective testing organization to CMU.

Class Placement Testing
Check to see if you need to complete class placement testing.

Review your DegreeWorks report
Transfer credits are posted in the DegreeWorks app on the applications page in MAVzone.

We encourage you to check out your program sheet to see the classes you will take to earn your degree.
2. Class Registration
Choose your student type to begin the class registration process.-
CMU Transfer Students (30+ credits)
Contact your academic department to request a faculty advising appointment.

CMU Transfer Students (Less than 30 credits)
Schedule an academic advising appointment with CMU IRIS.

WCCC Transfer Students (Less than 30 credits)
Schedule an academic advising appointment with WCCC IRIS.

First-Time Adult Students (CMU and WCCC)
If you are a first-time student admitted to CMU or WCCC, complete your registration questionnaire in MAVzone to receive your first semester schedule.
3. Finalize Enrollment

Verify your tuition classification status
This is listed on your acceptance letter. If it’s not what you expected, contact the Admissions Office.

Authorize the College Opportunity Fund (and apply if needed)
If you are classified as an in-state student (Colorado resident), this will reduce your direct tuition cost. After you apply, you must authorize COF on the 'My Account' page in MAVzone.

Sign up for the Emergency Warning System
Opt in to receive alert messages in the event of an emergency situation.

Verify your Social Security Number
Review and your Social Security Number on the 'My Account' page in MAVzone.

Submit your immunization records
Colorado State law requires all college students to show proof of vaccinations.

Submit proof of Selective Service
Submit your proof of registration if requested.

4. Student Finances
Your bill will be viewable in the ePay app in MAVzone.-
Create a student budget
Use this interactive budgeting tool to help make a plan for your student finances.

Sign up for a CMU financial counseling appointment
Appointments are available via phone, Microsoft Teams video or in-person in Lowell Heiny Hall.

Complete or update the FAFSA
The Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) determines a student's eligibility for financial aid such as grants, loans and work study. Add CMU in the college section (001358).

Apply for scholarships
CMU Merit Scholarships are automatically offered based on the application for admission. CMU also offers a yearly scholarship application in MAVzone. The priority deadline for most scholarships is December 31 for the following academic year. The deadline for the Reisher Scholarship is May 1 for transfer students.

Review and accept your financial aid award offer
Your offer will be available after you have applied for financial aid and provided any additional documentation if requested. Offers begin in early spring for students enrolling in the fall.

Review the Financial Responsibility Agreement
Carefully review and accept the agreement.

View and manage your bill
The ePay app is where you can view your semester bill. Semester bills are due at the beginning of the semester by being paid in full or by enrolling in a free semester payment plan. You can set up electronic refunds and give a parent or supporter access to ePay for billing purposes.
5. Housing and Campus Arrival
CMU requires students who have earned less than 60 credit hours and are under the legal drinking age to live on campus, subject to room availability and unless approved for an exemption.

Submit your housing contract, application and $200 prepayment.

Complete your MAVcard submission process
Follow the guidelines in the MyPhoto app to upload your photo for your MAVcard student ID. This must be completed prior to your campus arrival.

View the CMU academic calendar
Familiarize yourself with important dates, semester breaks and exam schedules.

Look up your textbooks
Use the Maverick Store search tool to identify the textbooks you'll need.

Purchase your parking pass
Purchase your residential or commuter parking pass for the academic year. Passes are available starting August 1.

Attend New Mav Days
New Mav Days kicks off on Friday, August 19.
