Archaeology

In addition to the AAG major, CMU has a  minor in archaeology and a Professional Certificate in Cultural Resource Management, which trains students in the practical aspects (of archaeological research done on public lands and/or in advance of development projects.

The rich archaeological resources of western Colorado make CMU a fun and exciting place to learn archaeology. Learn about Colorado's wickiups with Lecturer Curtis Martin, Paleoindians in the area with Assistant Professor John Seebach, or historic weapons with Adjunct Researcher Douglas Scott. See the AAG Research web page for further information and updates.

There's never been a better time to discover archaeology at CMU. Our growing programs include research partnerships with the Bureau of Land Management, the National Park Service and the Museum of Western Colorado.
