Cigna Health Plans

Colorado Mesa University Faculty and Administrative Staff have four Medical Insurance Plans available, all provided by Cigna Health Plans. Eligible employees may enroll effective the first day of the month following their date of hire.

Health Savings Account (HSA) 

Employees enrolled in the HDHP plan may choose to enroll in a Health Savings Account. View our benefits guide for information on HSA Plan limits.

CMU partners with Cigna and Home Loan State Bank for employees who are enrolled in the HDHP and wish to enroll in a Health Savings Account (HSA).

Flexible Spending Accounts

Colorado Mesa University offers a Flexible Benefit Plan to benefits eligible Faculty and Administrative Staff. The Flexible Benefit Plan is provided by Cigna and is made possible by Sections 105, 106, 126 and 129 of the Internal Revenue Code. There are three separate and optional components under the Plan: Pre-Tax Insurance Premium Payments, Health Care Spending Account, and Dependent Care Spending Account. These options provide you with the opportunity to pay some of your insurance premiums and other eligible family expenses with pre-tax dollars

2023 Healthcare FSA Limit: $3,050

2023 Dependent Care FSA Limit: $5,000

MotivateMe Wellness Program

This voluntary program is designed to encourage employees to make smart choices, fulfill preventive health services, and engage in healthy behaviors towards achieving your healthy best, giving you the opportunity to earn a $50/month ($25/paycheck) wellness incentive off your health insurance premium.

If you are enrolled in one of CMU’s medical plans you’re eligible to participate in this program through Cigna, titled MotivateMe.

To qualify for the incentive, you must reach a certain number of points through a biometric screening, claim process or self-reported wellness activities. 

Employees can elect to participate in the Wellness Program when they enroll in an insurance plan provided by CMU or during open enrollment.
