Program Overview

The Master of Science in Sport Management serves to develop students’ conceptual skills, theoretical comprehension, and practical knowledge in order that they are prepared to become the next generation of leaders in the sport industry.

The Online Master of Science in Sport Management provides a specialized education in sport management for those individuals interested in professional management or administrative opportunities in professional sports, interscholastic and intercollegiate athletics administration, sports facilities, sports media, and sports marketing and management agencies. This degree is aimed at those students who are full-time employees or working professionals, and is designed for those individuals looking for a flexible academic schedule:

  • All 30 credit hours are available online
  • We offer the choice of a thesis or non-thesis option

Classes include a research core, the sport management core and electives. Field experience is required for the non-thesis track and for those interested in moving on to doctoral studies, a thesis track is available.  Students can follow a full-time or part-time schedule

The degree leads to a wide variety of career choices.  Graduates of the program are qualified to gain employment in a variety of capacities within many segments in the sport industry.  Sport management graduates work in school, university and college settings as athletic administrators, public relations/marketing directors, or in professional or amateur sports areas.
