Students with Peer Notetaker Accommodation

Step 1: Student is approved for Peer Notetaker accommodation during Access Meeting.

Step 2: Student requests Peer Notetaker accommodation at the start of the term to notify faculty of accommodations with the Faculty Accommodation Memo. This request also notifies EAS staff to begin matching a notetaker with the student for the requested course(s).

Step 3: Student must confirm the classes a peer notetaker is requested for. To do this, login to AIM, navigate to Notetaking Services under My Accommodations on the left-side menu. Select Confirm Now for classes that a peer notetaker is absolutely needed in to begin the notetaker search process.

Step 4: Student is notified via email when a notetaker has been confirmed for a course.

Step 5: Notetaker will upload notes to the AIM Portal. Student can access and download notes on the AIM Portal by going to the left hand menu, selecting Notetaking Services, and navigating to the course and corresponding set of notes needed.

Student Responsibilities:

  • Student should contact EAS immediately if notes are not being uploaded to AIM within 48 hours of each class dismissal.
  • Student should contact EAS if notes are not acceptable - unreadable, insufficient, unclear, etc.
  • Student is responsible for using the notes provided. Students are not allowed to share the notes provided to them with anyone other than the professor or EAS upon request.
