Hospitality Management is a field of business that focuses on the management principles of various hospitality industries; such as hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, theme parks, etc. Hospitality management is a  challenging field where managers must be flexible enough to perform a variety of tasks, including setting  standards, managing staff, training new employees, and dealing with the public. However, people who enjoy a fast paced environment and are good at thinking on their feet may find this career very rewarding. 

Colorado Mesa University offers the Hospitality Management major in an associate of applied science (AAS), bachelor of applied science (BAS) or a bachelor of business administration (BBA). The BBA program is open to any qualified student seeking a business degree with an emphasis in Hospitality Management. The BAS can only be pursued by students who have obtained an AAS in Hospitality Management or a related field and wish to further develop their qualifications, knowledge and skills. The AAS enables students to be qualified for entry-level positions within hospitality-related industries. All students pursuing a Hospitality Management program at CMU will become prepared for the challenges of today’s businesses and organizations, as well as their needs for tomorrow.

Students within the CMU business program also have the opportunity to participate in student business clubs and organizations, internships, and other professional development activities that enable students to practice and develop business knowledge and skills. These opportunities facilitate students in becoming stronger candidates upon entering the job market.
