All students enrolled in a Center for Teacher Education Master's program must submit and present a Capstone project within the last year of the program. At the end of the program, graduate students must petition to have certificates and/or degrees awarded, and are welcome to participate in CMU's commencement ceremonies. Graduate students seeking initial principal or teacher licensure, as well as those seeking a SPED added endorsement, must apply for licensure/endorsement through their state's department of education.

Out of State Licensure

Colorado Mesa University's education programs meet the requirements for licensure in the state of Colorado. Educator and principal licensure requirements vary by state. Graduates of CMU’s education programs who seek a license in the United States outside of Colorado will have to apply to that state for review. Where reciprocity between states cannot be determined, that state will evaluate an individual’s credentials on a case-by-case basis.
