Assignment Queue Process
-
Application Submitted
- Students who submit a housing application after all beds are filled are placed in the assignment queue.
- Placement in the queue is based on the date and time the application was received.
2. Exemptions and Bed Availability
- As beds become available (through cancellations, exemptions, or adjustments), Residence Life will assign students from the assignment queue.
3. Student Contacted
- Students are contacted by phone call in the order of the assignment queue.
- The Residence Life team will offer the student the next available bed.
4. Student Decision
- If the student accepts, they are immediately assigned to the offered bed.
- If the student declines, the bed is offered to the next student in line.
5. Placement Status
- Students who decline an offer do not lose their place in the assignment queue.
- However, Residence Life cannot guarantee that a more desirable or alternative option will become available.
6. Ongoing Notifications
- Students should closely monitor their phone and email, as the window to respond to an offer may be limited.
- Residence Life will continue offering beds as they become available until all housing options are filled or the semester begins.
