Every year in late September, hundreds of high school students from across Colorado gather in the studios and student media spaces at CMU. Join us for a day of immersion in the world of professional media—practice your craft, build your network, and see the possibilities that await you as a Mass Communication student at Colorado Mesa.
Workshop your sports reporting, yearbook, social media, TV and video production, news writing, photojournalism, radio, public relations, and podcasting with media professionals. Tour the mass comm corners of campus and meet the students behind The Criterion, CMU TV, KMSA, Horizon Magazine, Photo Club, and our Society of Professional Journalists chapter. Ask about AI and ethics, the day-to-day life of a journalist, and the exciting opportunities of media careers. Meet a panel of student journalists as they explain their approach to the toughest reporting trial they faced in the last year.
