Welcome to Colorado Mesa University and the Department of Kinesiology!

Mission: The Department of Kinesiology empowers students by providing nationally recognized academic and professional programs that promote and manage wellness, physical activity, and healthy lifestyles through excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Students have access to the latest literature on modern intranet/internet servers and databases supported by our campus. The university has an exercise physiology research club and a community wellness program for interested students.

The Department of Kinesiology is housed in the Maverick Center, which is west of Walker Field - Soccer Stadium, at the corner of 12th Avenue and Orchard Avenue.

The Maverick Center has gone through a major renovation which includes a new Natatorium - a competition swimming pool, 50 meters long, with a diving well and observation area that will allow Colorado Mesa University to host regular season swim competitions, as well as Division II championships.

The Maverick Center also houses the Monfort Family Human Performance Lab, which contains the most modern tools and equipment for physiological and biomechanical research. This lab will be used for classes during the week, but will also be open to the community for physiological and biomechanical analysis.

Other areas include an Athletic Training treatment area, wrestling area, offices and classrooms to accommodate our expanding campus.

Please take some time to explore our website and feel free to contact any of the faculty if you have questions.

Thank you for considering Colorado Mesa University.
