Early Start Program

Starting the week of August 11, 2019

The transition from high school to college is a major step. CMU's Early Start Programs are designed to give students valuable knowledge about their college journey. Build connections with other first-time students, earn college credit and engage in what it means to be a Maverick.

There are three tracks in the early start program: full, PB and GOALS — more information on each track is available below. Students will be automatically placed into a track based on their admit level. If you are not sure of your admit level, please contact your admissions counselor or the Admissions Office.

This is a full week of being immersed in campus life and learning how to be the best student you can be. Taught by CMU faculty, the FYI program is designed to give students a better understanding of the skills needed to be successful in college, like study skills, test-taking strategies and time management techniques. Take advantage of this opportunity to meet your Mavily and learn how to navigate campus before the semester start. Participants will earn two credit hours.
