Mavettes Community Dance Camp

Join the Maverick Mavily and perform with the Mavettes Dance Team!

The Mavettes Dance Team hosts an annual dance camp for the ages of 3-18 years old. Kids from all over the Western Slope are able to learn dance technique, game day choreography, and have the opportunity to perform a halftime routine with the team during a basketball game. This event is usually a full day on a Saturday in February. The participants learn from the team and return back to the Brownson Arena in the evening to part-take in the halftime show for the women's game. All participants receive lunch, snacks, and a tee-shirt for their evening performance. Community events are TBD due to COVID-19. We hope to continue our community outreach during the 2021-2022 season.

Mavettes Tryout Dance Clinics

Come attend our tryout clinic to learn material and choreography prior to the tryout. During the clinic, you will review dance technique requirements, skill requirements, jazz choreography, hip hop choreography, game day material, and our fight song.

You will be able to work with the Mavettes Dance Team coach and current members of the team. It's a great opportunity to be able to ask the questions you need, be better prepared for the tryout, and feel confident in your performance.

There will be a Q & A at the end of the day and the tryout packet will be handed out.

For out of state interests or tryout conflicts, email Gabriele Cahill for further instructions. gcahill@coloradomesa.edu

Due to covid-19 protocols and restrictions, tryout clinics will not be offered spring 2021. The tryout process for the 2021-2022 will be offered virtually through a video submission process. Video tutorials will be released March 15, 2021. Video submissions are due April 30, 2021.
