Study Abroad Summer 2026
During the summer of 2026, Dr. Laura Muñoz and Dr. Tyler Anderson will lead a group of students to Córdoba, Spain. The agreement with this University is only the second such formal agreement between a foreign university and Colorado Mesa University. This will be the third exchange between the two universities, the first having taken place in 2022. Highlights from our Study Abroad in Spain, Summer 2024
Trip Highlights
Some of the highlights of the trip:
- Students can earn up to seven credits.
- Classes include the option for a Maverick Milestone course (a course that all CMU students have to eventually take to graduate, so why not do it in Spain!)
- Essential Speech
- Spanish Language and Cultural courses
- Students will live and eat with host families and experience the Spanish culture intimately on a daily basis.
- We will have special excursions to Madrid, Sevilla, and Granada.

We have wrapped up our fall 2025 informational meetings. If you were not able to make it to one of these meetings and would like more information, feel free to reach out and set up a time to meet. Please find the PPT presentations from our most recent meetings below.
Application Process
As we discussed in our meeting, there will be an application process. For this you will need to complete the following application by February 1: Study Abroad in Spain Application
Also, please have a CMU professor (other than Drs. Muñoz or Anderson) complete the following reference by February 1: Professor Reference for Study Abroad
We also have a wonderful couple who has offered to contribute some scholarships of $1000 to $2000 to help between five and seven students. More information regarding that application process will be given once students have been selected.
Specific Meetings
Beginning in February, we will begin meeting to discuss more specifics regarding the trip. Look for emails regarding these meetings at the beginning of the new year.
