The physics department at CMU is a phenomenal group of humble, intelligent and empowering professors and colleagues. As a result of this close-knit group, I gained a much deeper understanding and love for a breadth of physics topics that I would not have found elsewhere. The greatest growth I found through the program was my confidence in approaching and unpacking any problem, no matter how initially intimidating it may seem. Now I am pursuing my Master's in Quantum Engineering, and I have the physics program at CMU to thank for my preparedness.

One of the things I value most about the physics program is how personable the program is. Having small class sizes where professors truly know their students makes an enormous difference, both academically and personally. It really feels like a close-knit community, almost like a family, and that environment made learning physics both more engaging and more meaningful to me. I also greatly appreciated how talented and supportive the faculty are, and how accessible they were inside and outside the classroom.
