The Colorado Mesa University Physics program hosts an active chapter of the Society of Physics Students (SPS). The SPS is a national professional organization for undergraduate physics students. It promotes undergraduate research in physics, outreach at K-12 organizations and professional and career development in physics at the undergraduate level.


The Colorado Mesa University SPS chapter holds regular meetings accompanied by physics-related activities and demonstrations. The chapter has received several national awards for outstanding chapter and outstanding chapter advisor. The Colorado Mesa University SPS chapter also holds an annual pumpkin drop event in the fall and an annual egg drop event in the spring.

Past and Future Events

Club Meetings are held every other Friday during the semester at 12:00pm in Wubben 218.  Meetings are open to all and always include free pizza and a physics demonstration.
