- A minimum GPA of 2.0 (letter grade of C) is required for each prerequisite course.
- Applicants may have prerequisite courses outstanding at the time of submission; but all prerequisites must be completed before classes start at the beginning of the first semester. Courses taken to fulfill prerequisites may be taken at any U.S. accredited university or college (including community colleges and accredited online programs).
- Evidence of completion of a Bachelor's degree and all prerequisites must be submitted prior to the start of the program.
- Post-Baccalaureate prerequisite credits must be approved by the MSOT program in OTCAS.
- The MSOT program does not accept Advanced Placement, experiential learning, or work experience as credit for any required course. Post baccalaureate prerequisite credits must be approved by the MSOT program in OTCAS.
Course Course Requirements Minimum Credits Anatomy & Physiology I with Lab Human anatomy and physiology may be taken as separate courses or as a combined anatomy and physiology course. If anatomy and physiology are offered as a two or three-part sequence, all courses in the sequence must be completed. The physiology content must include all human body systems and the anatomy content must include the anatomical structure of the muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems (including the spinal cord). 4

Anatomy & Physiology II with Lab See above requirements. Must complete the full sequence if anatomy and physiology are offered as separate courses. 3

Statistics Any basic college-level statistics course. Must include both descriptive and inferential statistics, including hypothesis testing. A course in research design may be accepted if it includes these components. 3

Developmental Psychology Courses in human development or developmental psychology that cover physical, cognitive, and psychosocial human development theories. Acceptable alternatives include Lifespan Development, Child Psychology, or Human Growth and Development. 3
(CMU Courses Include: PSYC 233)
Abnormal Psychology A broad and introductory course on abnormal psychology to help students become familiar and more comfortable with the phenomena of mental illness. Courses titled Psychopathology or Psychology of Deviance may also be accepted. 3
(CMU Courses Include: PSYC 340)
Medical Terminology Basic medical terminology as applied to major systems of the body and related diseases. A certificate of completion from an online continuing education course is not accepted. 1

OTCAS
The Occupational Therapist Centralized Application Service (OTCAS) is a web-based application system that allows students to apply to multiple OT programs with a single application, while facilitating a streamlined admissions process for programs. The OTCAS application includes:

Professionalism: The CMU MSOT Program highly values professionalism during all phases of our program, including but not limited to pre-applicants, applicants, students, and graduates. Professionalism will be taken into consideration throughout the duration of the application process. We expect all persons to maintain a professional demeanor in all communications and interactions with the CMU MSOT program. OT program faculty and staff have the right to reserve response to any communication that is threatening, argumentative, offensive, or dishonest.
Selected applicants receive interview invitations within 1 month of applying. All interviews are conducted virtually as we feel this creates a more equitable interview process by recognizing the time and financial impact that traveling for interviews has on an applicant.

Interviewees will be notified of the admissions decisions via email within a month of the interview.
A $750 non-refundable payment is required to reserve the seat in the program at the time the offer is accepted. Instructions for payment will be provided with the acceptance letter.
There will also be a non-refundable $50 CMU Application Fee once you are accepted.
If an applicant commits to another program, we request the professional courtesy of notifying the Colorado Mesa University Occupational Therapy Program.
Candidates offered a position will be required to complete the following prior to enrollment using our EXXAT platform to upload required documents ($70 EXXAT fee):
- Immunizations and Health Information documentation
- Current BLS for Health Care Providers or CPR/AED that includes Pediatric Certifciation & First Aid Certification (Cost varies)
- Valid Driver's License
- Certified Background Check and Drug Screen ($69 and $29)
- Official Transcripts submitted to CMU for all coursework
- AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association) Learner Memebership ($78)
- OTAC (Occupational Therapy Association of Colorado) Student Membership ($88)
