European Cultural Immersion and Music Appreciation: Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and more
Immerse yourself in the culture and language of Germany while exploring the region’s cultural treasures, and from which much of the history of “Classical Music” is derived. Our home base will be in Ingolstadt, Germany (35 minutes North of Munich) where students will participate in immersive Music Appreciation classes and on the campus at CMU’s Foreign University Partner: Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt.
The group will explore the region with weekly trips to nearby cultural interests including Munich: Bavarian State Opera, Pinakothek Modern Art Museum, Dachau concentration camp, Neuschwanstein Castle; Salzburg: Mozart’s birthplace, castle; and other regional visits to Prague (a UNESCO world heritage site). The experience will culminate with an optional two day/three night add-on trip to Paris for visits to the Notre Dame cathedral (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Louvre museum and other explorations of the City of Light and its musical history. (All costs related to the optional three-day excursion to Paris at the end of the course are separate, additional charges.)
