Meet the Jury 

Colorado Mesa University proudly announces the
2023 jury for the Spirit of Rowdy Sticker Collection competition. 

 


Dusti Reimer

Elevate PR & Marketing, Owner
Experience Education Foundation, Founder

 

dusti_reimer.jpgDusti Reimer is the owner of Elevate PR & Marketing. She also founded the non-profit Experience Education Foundation, which hosts the Initiate Conference. Dusti is a 2005 Colorado Mesa University graduate who has been practicing public relations and communications ever since.

Dusti Reimer recently served as the Colorado Mesa University Alumni Association Board President from 2022-2023 and has spent several years volunteering at Colorado Mesa University through the alumni association and partnering with various departments on campus to help give back to students. She was nominated last year as Alumni Community Member of the Year from the CMU student body.

She is married to her high school sweetheart, a loving mom, a runner at heart, and loves travel and adventure!

Lee Borden

The Western Colorado Center for the Arts, Executive Director

 

lee_borden.jpgLee Borden majored in music theatre and mass communications at Mesa College (now CMU) in the early 1980s. After college, he spent 19 years in commercial radio as operations manager/program director and morning show host. In August of 2000, he went to work at the Cabaret Dinner Theatre and Metro Playhouse, where he was associate producer, acting coach, general manager and actor/singer until April of 2008.

In 2008, Lee became the Events and Communications Manager at The Western Colorado Center for the Arts in Grand Junction. In 2016, he transitioned into his current position as Executive Director of The Art Center. While at The Art Center, Borden has worked on hundreds of two-dimensional and three-dimensional installations and monumental sculpture exhibitions as administrator, curator, juror and preparator/installer.

Lee also has oversight of The Art Center’s permanent collection archives, which hold close to 700 works of art, over sixty Navajo weavings, and a collection of prehistoric Ancestral Puebloan ceramics. He is a passionate advocate for the arts of all kinds.

 


Suzie Garner

Professor of Art and Design, Colorado Mesa University


garner.jpgSuzie Garner serves as a Professor of Art and Design at Colorado Mesa University, where she has been teaching graphic design and drawing since 1994. She is a dedicated sketchbook artist and graphic designer, with a primary research interest in capturing her experiences in the natural world through ink and watercolor.

Suzie also enjoys sharing her expertise with others, having led field journaling and sketching workshops at various National Parks in the Western United States. Another facet of her scholarly research involves creating sticker designs for both the Art and Design Department and her personal brand and sticker business.

 


 

The jury will comprise professionals from the local fine art and commercial art industries, Colorado Mesa University faculty or staff members and/or members of the mascot team. The Mascot Program is responsible for assembling the jury.
