Marketing and Communications coordinates much of CMU's internal communication reaching students, faculty and staff. Generally speaking, internal communication is limited to academic, administrative and athletic departments/offices. Individuals needing to reach the campus community may email [email protected] or [email protected].
There are two digital street marquees on the Colorado Mesa University campus. One is at the corner of Orchard Avenue and 12th Street, the other is on North Avenue near 10th Street.
Content/Slide Requirements
Slides cannot be displayed for a time shorter than four seconds. Transitions should be subtle. Event slides will not be posted more than 30 days before the event. Events that occur on a weekly basis (e.g. music concerts, athletic events) will have the entire week’s events posted that Monday morning.
Criteria
Each event must be approved by the Marketing Office and meet the following criteria:
- It is a major public event, open to the community and in which we want community involvement.
- It is of and for Colorado Mesa University, NOT merely hosted by Colorado Mesa University.
- It takes place on the main Colorado Mesa University campus.
- It offers revenue potential.
- It is NOT an event from a student club or organization.
Acceptable Content
- Mainstage and MET productions, dance performances, music events
- Athletics

The Bulletin is CMU's digital signage network that displays information about university-related events, news, student organizations and clubs, administrative services, and academic programs via a set of slides on television screens across Main Campus, Bishop Campus and Montrose Campus.
Content
Proposed postings should be submitted electronically to [email protected] a minimum of five (5) business days prior to the first date the content is to be displayed on The Bulletin. Include the first name, last name, and phone number of the submitter; the dates the content should start running and end; and the message to be displayed.
The message should be short to enable viewers to easily read and comprehend within the seven (7) seconds duration each slide is displayed. It should include the event, activity or news TITLE; a DATE, TIME, and LOCATION if applicable; and the NAME (or logo) of the campus group club or organization sponsoring the event/activity. Suggested images may be submitted with the posting request.
Limitations
- Video and animated graphics are not presently supported.
- Promotion of specific courses and/or course sections is not allowed.
- On-campus job postings are not allowed and should be advertised within Handshake.
To reinforce the educational mission of the University and protect CMU's brand image, the Marketing Office reserves the right to determine what content is displayed; at which location(s); and the duration, dates, and times content is displayed.
Slide Creation
Generally the Campus Design Studio or Marketing and Communications Office will create slides once content is submitted to [email protected]. If you are creating your own slides they should be made to the following specifications:
- Width:1350 pixels
- Height: 1080 pixels
- 50 pixels of padding between text and all sides
- File format: .jpg, .png, .gif.
PowerPoint slides can also be submitted. PowerPoint slides should be formatted to the specifications below. A PowerPoint Template has been created to the following standards.
