By law, the College Opportunity Fund (COF) covers 145 credit hours, at a rewarded $116 per credit hour, for eligible undergraduate students. However, both CMU and the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) have appeal processes in place that allow a student to request additional COF funding based on extenuating circumstances.
If you need to submit an appeal, your first step is to submit a COF Maximum Hours Appeal through CMU. This is considered an Institutional Waiver.
Once this process is completed, if you need additional COF funding, you will need to complete a CDHE College Opportunity Fund Appeal.
