Purpose of the Water Center at Colorado Mesa University

The Upper Colorado basin is facing increasing demands on water resources, and there are many unanswered questions about how these demands could affect the region’s environment and communities.  The Water Center at CMU seeks to coordinate research, education and dialogue on these issues.

Studying Water at Colorado Mesa University

  • Colorado Mesa University offers two degree programs focused on water: an interdisciplinary Watershed Science minor and an Associate in Applied Science degree in Water Quality Management, as well as a new Associate in Applied Science degree in Sustainable Agriculture.
  • Faculty in both the natural sciences and the social sciences have expertise in water issues.
  • CMU also sponsors continuing education classes and seminars for the general public; updated information on these offerings is available on the events page.
