The Economic Impact of Outdoor Recreation in Mesa County 2022

This study estimates the economic impact of outdoor recreation in Mesa County. The results are based on combining two surveys given to 1) outdoor recreation businesses and 2) outdoor recreation tourists to Mesa County. The surveys were conducted in 2022.

Grand Valley Public Trail Systems Socio-Economic Study. Mesa County, Colorado 2018

This report evaluates the economic impact, willingness to pay and user satisfaction of visitors to Bureau of Land Management mountain biking trail systems in Mesa County, Colorado.  The study considers the 18 Road, Lunch Loops and Kokopelli trail systems.  The results are based on a 2017 survey given on-site at these trail locations.

Rural Colorado Migration Study 2018 

This report presents the results of a survey about the reasons people move to, or stay in, rural Colorado counties. Although all reasons are considered, particular emphasis is given to the role of public lands in those decisions.  It is based on 2017 random phone survey of residents in nine western and central Colorado counties.

Mesa County Hedonic House Price Study Report 2017

An analysis of the value added by proximity to various natural amenities (parks, open space, public lands, trails, etc.) to the average house price in the Grand Junction area of Colorado from 2013-2015.

Eastern Colorado Resource Planning Community Report 2015

This report presents the results of a focus group study in Central and Eastern Colorado (BLM – Royal Gorge Field Office) examining the community vision of several gateway communities in the area, and the role that public lands play in that vision.
