Program Requirements
Once accepted into the TRIO Program, you are required to meet these three requirements each academic year:-
Two staff contacts per semester (Four Per Year)

One Workshop Per Semester (Two Per Year)

One Financial Literacy Workshop/Activity/Learning Event Per Year

December 1 From 5 - 6 PMFirst-Gen Club Studying And Candy Canes Come by UC 213 for a study session and making kind candy grams for CMU students and community members!

December 2 From 3:30 - 5 PMDe-Stress & Crafting Workshop Come get creative making holiday-themed crafts with TRIO, all supplies provided! See you in HH 225.

December 3 From 11 AM - 2 PMAdopt-A-Family: Wrapping Gifts For Local Families Wrap gifts for a local family so they can celebrate this holiday season. Wrapping paper & supplies provided! We'll be in Escalante Hall 323/BirdsNest Study Lounge!

December 3 From 1 - 4 PMTreat Yo Self Fair! Check out CMU's annual Treat Yo Self Fair! TRIO will be there with a take-one, leave-one kind note station. There will be a silent disco, make your own slime, s'mores, and more!! We'll be at Arcadia!

December 5End Of Year Celebration: Senior Brunch Location To Be Determined!
TRIO Exclusive Study Lounges
These spaces are designated TRIO peer study areas. Staffed Monday-Friday and unlocked from 8-5 PM, a TRIO Peer Coach will be available to assist with a wide variety of subject material, study skills, organization, and personal mentoring. Computers and printing are available, as well as plenty of whiteboard space. They have a microwave/small fridge and the FishBowl has a sink.
The BirdsNest is a TRIO exclusive study/tutoring lounge in Escalante Hall room 323!
The FishBowl is a TRIO exclusive study/tutoring lounge in Houston Hall room 137!
The main office where our staff can be located for meetings is Lowell Heiny Hall room 450!
First Generation Student Club
The mission of the First-Generation Student Club is to connect first-gen students on campus to one another. This club will foster conversations between students that exchange ideas, form friendships, provide a community of support to like-minded individuals, and help students take pride in the fact that they are first in their family to go to college.
