Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and Faculty Learning Communities:

Come and learn more about what SoTL is and how you can do it in your classrooms.

  1. The basics of SoTL: How do I decide what to study, how do I create a research question, how do I navigate IRB?
  2. Just a little beyond the basics: How do I design a study, what data will I collect and how, qual or quant?
  3. Keep going: How do I analyze the data?
  4. What do I do with my findings? Publish? Where?

Faculty Learning Communities are small groups (4-5 people) who gather to learn more about a topic or teaching innovation and potentially implement these in their courses, with the idea of not only improving student learning but potentially generating a SoTL project.
