The New2CMU program is a 3-year onboarding process to designed to introduce new faculty to the culture of teaching at CMU and to provide pathways for faculty to improve their teaching regardless of level of experience. 
Year 1 faculty engage in a 3-day orientation event in August, followed by four more teaching-focused workshops spread out over the Fall and Spring semesters. The courses, Start Here: The Basics of College Teaching and Next Steps: The Art of College Teaching, are also offered in the Fall and Spring for early-career faculty.
Year 2 faculty attend three workshops designed to help them balance and navigate the responsibilities of teaching, service and scholarship. Faculty are encouraged to participate in the Peer Observation Program and/or the Course Design Institute.
Year 3 faculty have a 1v1 meeting with the AVP for Faculty Success and opportunities for collaboration with peer faculty along with promotion support.
