Refunds

Colorado Mesa University requests that all students sign up for direct deposit to receive their refunds.  Refunds will be electronically deposited directly to the student’s checking or savings account which was inputted into the on-line direct deposit form.

Signing up for direct deposit is easy and convenient through your on-line E-Pay account found in MAVzone.  Once you are logged into MAVzone and have logged in to your E-Pay account there will be a “Create a Refund Profile” option at the top of the page.  This will allow you to enter your direct deposit account information.  All future financial aid disbursements will be made to this account.

Current students who have financial aid payments in excess of their account balance will receive a refund. If however, the credit on your account is due to a dropped class or withdrawal and you received financial aid there is a chance that your financial aid will be taken back and you could owe the college instead.

ACH refunds are processed Monday thru Friday of each week. Checks are printed on Thursdays only.  Checks are available after 1pm and a picture ID is required at time of pick-up.  ACH funds are available in your bank approximately two to three business days after the credit appears on your account. Realize that your bank may not post your deposit immediately. Always check your bank account before you spend the money.

At the beginning of each semester, the refunds are deposited into your bank account on or around the Friday before classes start. If you add or drop classes we will wait until Census to process additional refunds. If you are done adding and dropping classes; be sure to notify us in writing if you need us to process these additional funds before Census.

Q.  If I signed up for direct deposit, can the college withdraw money for tuition and fee charges?

A.  No. Setting up direct deposit to your bank only gives us permission to deposit money into your account.

Q.  Why did my refund not show up in my bank account after I signed up for direct deposit?

A.  This may be due to one of the following reasons:

The banking information that you submitted is incorrect. Verify your information and contact the Business Office or your bank.  The bank account has been closed. Contact the Business Office to update your new bank account information.

Q.  I have withdrawn from school, when do I get my refund?

A.  Enrollment deposits and any other refunds, less any outstanding debt, are directly deposited after your withdrawal has been processed by Financial Aid and the Business Office. They cannot be released before that time.
