Hi there! My name is Shelby (she/her), and I am the Director of Upward Bound at Colorado Mesa. I was born and raised in a tiny farming town in Eastern Wyoming. In high school, I knew I wanted to go to college but wasn't sure what steps I needed to take, what I wanted to major in, and how I was going to pay for it. After graduation, I chose to attend my local community college for two years before transferring to the University of Wyoming where I graduated with my bachelor's degree in English.
Prior to starting with the Upward Bound program, I worked in college admissions and transfer services where I gained important skills in navigating the college-going process. I am passionate about making sure college is a place where all students feel seen, supported, and can succeed! In my free time I love to read, cook family recipes, and spend time with my husband, Jack. I am so excited to meet you!
