Each US state and jurisdiction (e.g., Washington DC) sets their own requirements to (a) sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam, and to (b) become licensed as a CPA in that state or jurisdiction.
  • If you are planning to sit for the CPA Exam and/or become a licensed CPA in any state or jurisdiction, it is strongly recommended that you contact the appropriate licensing entity in the state or jurisdiction where you intend to practice.
  • Each state’s or jurisdiction’s board of accountancy and other pertinent information can be found by visiting the website of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy
