Preston Sitton

“Nothing makes me more proud to be a Maverick than when we take the field for performance. I have found a life in the marching arts and a home in the Maverick Stampede. After spending two seasons on the Stampede’s snare line, I took on the role of drum captain, but I could not have done anything I was able to do without the help and support of my fellow leadership and drumline personnel. I have learned so many things about myself as a leader, and more importantly, myself as a person through this organization. My experiences from this band will stick with me for the rest of my life and will, with no doubt, enrich my future career as a music educator.”

Preston is a senior at CMU, and is pursuing a degree in Music Education. He has played in six total ensembles at the school throughout his time at Mesa, and has performed solo pieces as well as duets in his Junior Recital. Aside from performing, Preston enjoys composing, teaching, and of course listening to all kinds of music. Outside of CMU, he teaches marching percussion at Palisade High School. After receiving his degree, he plans to teach music at the high school level, hopefully landing a position as a high school band director. In his free time, he likes to watch Netflix and perfect his craft of being “The King of Bad Jokes.”
