The Colorado Mesa University Drumline (aka the "Mavroon Platoon") consists of around 20-25 marching members representing a wide cross section of majors and talents from across the university. The drumline is open to all students at CMU and is the power source - the battery - of the Maverick Stampede. With a combination of hard work and dedication, the CMU drumline compels the Maverick Stampede to move together with energy and precision...while being heck of a lot of fun!

CMU Drumline Auditions

All current and prospective members must audition each season Due to the popularity of the drumline, placement on the drumline is based on a video audition and in-person percussion clinic. This combination ensures all marching members are set up for growth and success for the marching season.

Audition material for both drumline AND front ensemble:

Prepared Piece: Prepare a 1-2 minute piece or excerpt of a piece on your most comfortable or preferred instrument (this can also be a drum pad if a marching or concert instrument is unavailable to you).

Warmup Packet: After May 1, please prepare warmup packet to the best of your ability.

ALL AUDITIONING MEMBERS will be placed on an instrument on which they will have the most success for the marching season.
