Spotlight- Darcy Dackonish

"The baritone section has been like a second family to me throughout my time in college, and I love being part of the biggest student organization on campus because I've met more people than I think I possibly could have without marching band. We attract great musicians and great people, and I'm so excited to see how much the organization grows during this 2017 season."

Darcy Dackonish is a senior at Colorado Mesa University. She will graduate in Fall of 2018 with a Bachelor of Music Education. Upon graduating, she hopes to teach middle school band in a Title I program. She has played baritone in the Maverick Stampede for the past three years and served in various leadership positions, including Data Manager and Band Captain. She will return as Band Captain this year and will also serve as one of two drum majors.

Darcy is heavily involved not only in the Maverick Stampede but also in the Music Department, regularly participating in four to six ensembles each semester and serving in leadership positions such as President of CMU'S chapter of Collegiate National Association for Music Education. In her free time, she likes to go to the gym, hike, and watch too much Netflix.
