Colorado Mesa University Department of Health Sciences consists of healthcare professional programs including Nursing, Radiologic Sciences, Surgical Technology and Medical Laboratory Technology. These programs educate a diverse population of students who, upon graduation, will be equipped with the skills and proficiency to deliver a broad range of high-quality, culturally competent care to individuals, families and communities.
The educational curriculum of these programs include a wide variety of teaching methods including the use of fully equipped skills labs, high-tech simulation mannequins and clinical placements in a variety of health care organizations and rural hospitals. These unique educational delivery systems provide students with the opportunity to master course content and skills while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Drop-in Advising
Potential students interested in any health sciences program may attend these advising sessions - no appointment needed! Session starts promptly at listed time; advisors will cancel session within 10 minutes if not attended. Sessions take 30 to 45 minutes.
Advisors from the Department of Health Sciences will present on all programs and answer any questions you may have.

Change of Major/Change of Advisor
If you need to update, change or modify your major, please go to the Registrar Forms page of the CMU website: https://www.coloradomesa.edu/registrar/forms.html. Scroll down to the M section and click on Major/Minor Change. You will need to login to your MAVzone account to complete the form and submit it.
American Heart Association, BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification
Individuals must complete the online didactic course, first. Then the individual can reach out to Eileen Woolwine ([email protected]) to schedule the in person skills portion, to complete certification for the American Heart Association, BLS for the Healthcare Provider. This is the required CPR certification for all Health Sciences' programs.
