Margaret Knapp is a professional actor, director and dramaturg and has recently founded the Mesa Summer Theater which brings classical outdoor theater to Grand Junction. She received her BA in Communication Arts with an emphasis in Film from UW-Madison and her MFA in Acting/Directing from UMKC. 

While originally from Madison, WI, Knapp considers Chicago to be her hometown. Her directing credits include Foxfinder by Dawn King for Interrobang Theater Project in Chicago which was nominated for seven Joseph Jefferson Awards including Best Director and Best Production and won two (Best Original Music and Best Scenic Design). An Equity actor since 1992, Knapp has acted at theaters in and around the midwest such as the Apollo in Chicago, Drury Lane-Oakbrook, the Kansas City Rep and Unicorn Theater in KC, MO and The Human Race Theater in Dayton, OH as well as TV (Chicago Justice), voice overs and commercials.

Knapp teaches Acting, Theater History, Text Analysis, Improvisation and various other acting classes and has a cute but pesty dog named Mr. Bingley.
