Event details

We are excited to offer and ask you to save-the-date for this spring's water course: Water Law In A Nutshell! Taught by Aaron Clay across three nights, this course provides an introduction to the legal principles governing water rights and ditch rights in Colorado. Topics include the appropriation, adjudication, perfection, use, limitations, attributes, abandonment, and enforcement of various types of water rights. The course also examines special rules governing groundwater, public rights in appropriated water, interstate water compacts, and other foundational aspects of Colorado water law.

Drawing on 26 years of experience as a water referee in Colorado’s Water Court, Aaron Clay brings extensive practical knowledge and insight to this comprehensive introduction to Colorado water law. His experience and expertise provide valuable perspective on the legal framework governing Colorado’s most important natural resource. He has taught courses on water law for several years across audiences of realtors, closers, attorneys, and more!
