Hi everyone! I’m Jess Hanson, one of the Engagement Specialists for the First Gen+ Support Center at CMU. I graduated from CMU in 2022 with my BBA and am currently halfway through my Master’s in Educational Leadership.
My journey at CMU has included a variety of student-focused roles, from serving as a Student Ambassador and campus tour guide in the Admissions Office to working as a TRIO Peer Coach before graduating. These experiences helped shape my passion for supporting students and creating meaningful connections throughout the college experience.
In my current role, I get to do one of my favorite things — build community! I help plan events, workshops, trips, and other opportunities designed to support and connect & support students. If you ever have a creative idea for a workshop or event, I’d love to hear it!
I’m grateful that I get to be part of your educational journey and excited to help make your time at CMU successful. Events are designed to be educational, fun, and an easy way to meet fellow Mavs.
Outside of work, you can usually find me mountain biking, trail running, hiking, paddle boarding, camping, or enjoying the outdoors with friends. I’m looking forward to meeting you!
