The online RN to BSN program at Colorado Mesa University offers professional nurses the opportunity to grow and develop critical competencies in evidence-based practice and insight into contemporary health care challenges. Taught by exceptional faculty, this rigorous program prepares RNs who have met state licensure requirements to practice as professional nurses, pursue graduate education and assume leadership roles.

The RN to BSN online program is an affordable, flexible path to achieving academic and professional advancement. The program is 31 upper division nursing credits which can be taken with 8-week sessions. Classes can be taken each session or students can go at their own pace. Additional outstanding essential learning courses may be required to satisfy the total requirement of 120 credits for a BSN.

Program Eligibility

  • Successful completion of an associate degree or diploma program in nursing that is accredited by the Accreditation Commission in Nursing (ACEN).
  • Graduation from a regionally accedited school, and a nursing program that is nationally accredited.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Submit proof of a current RN license as part of your applicaiton. Throughout this program, your RN license must be kept current and unencumbered. If you are currently in a nursing program leading to an RN, and are interested in our Early Acceptance Option, contact the program for more information. 
  • Successfully completed up to 38 nursing credits (from your associate degree or diploma program in nursing that led to your RN).

Colorado Mesa University’s RN to BSN program online is designed for working adults. Our 100% online courses make earning your degree both accessible and affordable. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.

Academic Requirements for RN-BSN in Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Earning your BSN degree may provide:

Program applications must be submitted by noon on the application deadline for consideration of admission into the program for that start date. Tuition is due on the start date.

Additional program costs:
Typhon account ($70): Students are required to establish this account and upload immunizations and documentation to that account as part of their coursework. The one-time fee includes access throughout the program and for 5 years after graduation where supporting documentation of practice experiences are kept.

Shadowhealth ($99): Additional online program used for laboratory experiences for population health and health assessment in this program.
