Practical Nursing (PN)
Technical Certificate
This program is designed for students interested in becoming a licensed practical nurse (PN) as an entry into the nursing career ladder program.
The practical nursing program prepares a student to be direct care givers in hospitals, long-term facilities and ambulatory care-clinic settings. The student must demonstrate college-level proficiency in reading and writing in order to be admitted to this program. This program has selective admission requirements and requirements may change from year-to-year. It is the student's responsibility to obtain the current admission requirements.
The application deadline is January 15 of every year with classes beginning in August. Students complete the program in May and are eligible to take the State Board examination (NCLEX) for LPN Licensure.
Program Accomplishment
The Practical Nursing (PN) program has been recognized as the No. 1 program in the nation for the 2025-2026 academic school year, based on the percentage of candidates who successfully passed the NCLEX. This marks the second time the program has earned this distinction, with its first national ranking achieved during the 2023-2024 academic year. NCLEX pass-rate data is collected and analyzed by Mountain Measurement in partnership with the National Council for State Boards of Nursing.
