Jessica O’Riordan is a Visiting Instructor of Psychology at Colorado Mesa University (CMU) and an alumna of the CMU psychology program. She holds a Master of Science in Applied Sport Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC).

O'Riordan teaches Human Growth and Development, General Psychology and Sport Psychology. Her teaching style is conversational, discussion-based and hands-on. She encourages students to ask questions, think critically and connect psychological concepts to their own experiences. Through guided discussions, interactive activities and real-world examples, she strives to make psychology engaging, accessible and relevant beyond the classroom.

Outside the classroom, O'Riordan's greatest professional passion is working with student-athletes and teams on campus. Drawing on her graduate education, specialized training and expertise in sport psychology, she helps athletes develop the mental skills needed to build confidence, navigate challenges, strengthen team dynamics and perform at their best. She enjoys helping athletes recognize their potential and apply mental performance strategies both in competition and beyond.

In her personal time, O'Riordan enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors. She also referees high school soccer on the weekends, allowing her to stay connected to the sport that has played such an important role in her life.
