Sharaya is an Instructor of Sport Management at Colorado Mesa University, where she is committed to developing future sport professionals through engaging, applied, and industry-relevant learning experiences. She teaches a broad range of courses including sport operations, sport management, and leadership and ethics, with a focus on connecting classroom concepts to real-world practice. Her professional background includes more than a decade of experience in higher education leadership and human resources, serving CMU as Chief People Officer, Director of Admissions, and in multiple student services roles. These positions shaped her expertise in talent management, organizational culture, strategic planning, and process improvement—perspectives she brings directly into her teaching and mentorship. She advises more than 100 students annually, supervises internship and practicum placements, and serves on various university committees supporting academic quality and student success. A former CMU women’s basketball captain and Academic All-American, she continues to support athlete development through community coaching. She holds both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Colorado Mesa University.
