MSN, University of Colorado- Colorado Springs
BSN, Oklahoma Christian University

Amanda recently obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing Education, a dream long in the making since she was an undergraduate student. She is passionate about the field of nursing and is excited to help educate the next generation of nurses here at CMU. She currently teaches Pharmacology and Foundations of Nursing along with the Foundations Lab for the BSN program. Amanda has nursing experience in Intensive Care and ER and enjoys bringing those experiences into the classroom for learning purposes.

The flipped classroom format, in which lectures are recorded and the classroom is used for learning activities, is a teaching strategy that Amanda has utilized in her graduate education and throughout her teaching experience to aid students in incorporating their experiences into the classroom. She believes that students drive their own learning and should be encouraged to share their diverse experiences in the classroom to aid in the learning of others. She currently utilizes this process in her Pharmacology course.

When not teaching Amanda enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends and two cats in Cedaredge, CO. She enjoys traveling as it always expands her horizon and has been to several countries including Honduras on a medical mission.
