Morgan Devore earned her Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology in 2019 and her Master of Science in Biology in 2021 from Southeast Missouri State University, followed by a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2026.

Her research focuses on Friedreich ataxia, a rare inherited neurodegenerative disorder that affects the nervous system, causing progressive difficulties with coordination, balance and mobility. The condition is caused by genetic alterations that reduce the production of frataxin, a protein essential for normal mitochondrial function. Her research interests include understanding the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying disease, with a particular emphasis on population genetics, epigenetics and bioinformatics.

Outside of the classroom and lab, Devore enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing board games, sewing and having fun with her dog, Maverick.
